"We have used Dan Wentz and his incredibly talented and professional team for several home construction projects. The biggest one was a kitchen remodel, which they accomplished speedily, neatly, and with incredible precision. The job involved removing a wall, moving a window, adding an island, plus all the standard (plumbing/electrical/cabinets, etc). Dan really inspires his guys and has a solid crew that has been together for a long time. Each sub-specialty (carpentry, plumbing, painters, etc) was led by a guy who really loves what he does and demands perfection from the guys under him.
As soon as they finished the kitchen, we got them to build our balcony and have since had them back to do build a deck. These are jobs that would probably have been "beneath them" during more flush times. But with the economic slowdown, they had a bit of a slow down too, and we were glad they were available for our smaller jobs too.
I have 2 friends who used Dan for their kitchen remodels before me and 2 more who have used him since. All 5 of us would recommend him in a heartbeat. One of the things that particularly impressed me was that unlike some builders, who treat "change orders" as an opportunity to gouge the customer, Dan would cost out things that came up after the start of the job in the same way he did his original estimate--it always felt very fair. (In fact, if anything, I suspected we were under-charged as if he failed to build any profit into the additional charges).
